Workflow post function to copy custom field to assignee if assignee empty

Hi all, we are about to upgrade from jira 4 to jira 6. We use a plug in CJH JIRA Plugins to enable a Workflow post function to copy a custom field (Test Manager) to assignee but only if the if assignee empty.

This plug in no longer works in Jira 6 so I need a scrpt to get it going. I have tried to use some similar scripts but they dont really do what I need. Does anyone know how do do this. many thanks in Advance
