Would it be possible to change the status of the story when a subtask was moved?

Hi Team,

Would it be possible to change the status of the story when a subtask was moved? For example, when starting a subtask, the story could automatically change to In Progress and when there is a blocked, the story will also follow the status. If possible, I would like you to please help me with this improvement. Thank you so much.

Hi @Swaroop 

It is possible but not without an add on. You would need either an add on like automation for jira (which I believe is now included in Data Center, and if it's only for individual projects, not for boards with multi projects you can use the lite version: https://marketplace.atlassian.com/apps/1211836/automation-for-jira-server-lite?hosting=server&tab=overview) or ScriptRunner.

For Automation for Jira I recommend playing in the playground to see if it fits your needs as well as others.
