When cloning a test cycle you can delete the word "CLONE" in the top folder of the clone. But all subfolders still have the "CLONE".

Is there a setting in Zephyr where I can get rid of the "CLONE" when cloning? Or is there a (free) add-on for that?

Hi @Fraser Colmer [Zephyr],

I wrote an email to Matthew on Jan. 17, but didn't receive an answer. Would it be possible for you to reach out to him about this issue?

Best regards,

Werner

+1..

I can see how prefixing folders with 'Clone' might prevent accidental chaos with rogue clones everywhere, but in doing so, the end user is forced to manually update many folder names EVERY time....

.......for the presumed 'benefit' in ID'ing accidental clones when they occur once or twice a year.

This insanely complicates programmatic scraping of test 'folders' for results or other automated workflows and trashes aesthetics for reporting. Some poor QA resource will be spending a (maddening) 10m each cycle with a 'clicky-doodle' session to simply undo the inevitable.

Curious on how this pans out @LEM , @Fraser Colmer [Zephyr]

.. on a good note.. LOVING the integrated Importer ( vs the jar ) .. salvages some time & frustration - albeit for someone other than the aforementioned poor 'folder-renaming' chum.

Zephyr for JIRA 5.4.1 / ZAPI 2.71 <-- curious if ZAPI might be employed to update via API call.

Thanks!

Glad to see its a "RTFM" moment for this so leaving a note here for any wayward travelers with similar question. Be sure to check both the Zephyr version in use as well as the version of the documentation in this link:

https://zephyrdocs.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/ZFJ0500/pages/1061422128/Appending+Clone+Prefix+Option

The "CLONE" prefix is an option that can be enabled and disabled through the general configuration settings for Zephyr for JIRA. To enable and disable this option, use the following steps:

1. Navigate to the general configuration settings for Zephyr for Jira using the top navigation menu.

  • First, click on the cog wheel in the top-right of the interface.
  • Next, click on "Add-ons"
  • Lastly, click on "General Configuration" on the left-hand side menu.

2. Once on the general configuration page, scroll until you can view the option to enable and disable the "CLONE" prefix when cloning test cycles and folders.

3. Here you can simply use the checkbox to enable or disable the "CLONE" prefix.
