Hello ,
we have a requirement where in the transition should trigger an email alert to specified people.
the email sender address must be the assignee address.
currently we are using notifications for JIRA plugin. however it does not allow us to use placeholders like ${assignee} it can use only predefined email address like abc@xyz.com.
any help is appreciated.
Hi @gagan m s,
We use the Scriptrunner add-on for JIRA.
You can achieve exactly what you are looking for by using a Script Listener.

Automation for JIRA would be another option:

Hello @Gary Pasquale,
the script runner costs about 12000$ which is off of our budget.
is there any low cost plugin?
thanks

Hi @gagan m s,
I don't see $12000 on the pricing structure for Scriptrunner? Are you server and how many users do you have?

Hi @gagan m s,
There are plenty of email-related apps on the marketplace.
Have a look, but you may struggle to get something for your budget with an unlimited user licence.
Both Scriptrunner and the Automation apps would be a good investment as they provide so much more than your current requirement.
Regards,
Gary
