filter(Person ever assigned to a task)

QK July 24, 2019

How can we filter if someone has ever been assigned  before but issue has different assignee now.

For example, in one project we have 6 team members and assignee changes by status on each task. I want to find out who was working on each task from the beginning to the end.

Hi Keti,

you can simply search for assignee was XYZ with JQL. :) But I'm not sure if this will meet your use case. It is user-centric. You will see every issue the user has been assigned at some point. What you describe sounds more like "I need to see the different assignees for an issue", am I right? That's something we can't achieve this way as it involves historic values of the assignee field. But there's a solution for that as well.

Best, Max

Hey Keti,

glad to hear the function is what you were looking for. That spares me explaining the whole getting historic values and display them in a custom field in an appealing way. 😁By the way, have a look at the very good documentation on JQL functions and features: Advanced Searching

That's one of the most useful pages in the whole documentation (imho).
