hiding custom field

Hi ,

if i hide a custo field.Will it be hiddeden in exiting issues.I want to be visible in existing.

If you hide a custom field, it's hidden. Doesn't matter if there is data in it, you are explicitly telling Jira you don't want to see it.

If you want to stop people putting more data into an existing field, but still see existing data, remove the field from the create, edit and transition screens.
