Hey @Shahbaz Sharif please take a look at this discussion - don't you see the remaining time as it was explained there? :) https://community.atlassian.com/t5/Jira-questions/Remaining-Time-calculations/qaq-p/970670

Please comment if that helps, if not - we will look more into this.

Actually i think log work method is useless in our environment because if someone is late from estimate he may not log time correctly

I use a free tool called time in status free it calculate time spent in "in progress"  state and give me the result so i want to do following calculations

Original estimate - time spent in "in progress" = actual time lefy from estimate (+ve or - ve)

Okay, so what is below is just my thoughts I wanted to share, I hope that's okay with you :)

The problem here might be that not all time the issue spends in progress should actually be considered "I worked on that issue" time.

You would have to consider that if the estimate was 16 hours, it does not mean it will be done in two days - nobody really works on issues 8 hours a day, they make coffee and go to bathroom and go to meetings etc.  Sometimes two issues are in progress because dev started looking at another issue while the first was being deployed etc. relying on the "time spend in progress" will require a lot of discipline form the people on the issues - to move it out of the column if they are not actively working on it, if they go on meetings etc.

"og work method is useless in our environment because if someone is late from estimate he may not log time correctly " - this, just IMO, may indicate that the problem you are trying to solve is not of a technical nature, but rather that the inability to use the default measurement comes from some underlying problems of why the time-log data are unreliable and how it could be fixed.

Hi @Shahbaz Sharif ,

Using Status Time Free tool you get in progress status duration and original estimate columns and export the report into Excel. Then you can calculate the time difference between two in Excel.
