next-gen project - JQL filter epic and related issues

Hi all, 

  when I need to retrive an epic and all issues (task, stories and subtask) that are related to it I generally use the JQL statement `parentEpic = <epic code>`.

This seems not to work with next-gen project. Any idea about how to filter the issues this way with the new projects?

Currently, JQL support for epic based search in next-gen projects is pretty limited.
