null argument execption

com.atlassian.jira.util.dbc.Assertions$NullArgumentException: ProjectRole should
not be null!

In my plug-in, I wrote code that will extract roles from Jira for that I created 4 roles in Jira but I got this type of exception when I upload the Jira plugin.
