You could follow the Jira Performance Tests repo on bitbucket. Check out https://bitbucket.org/atlassian/jira-performance-tests/src/master/README.md
Jira Performance Tests (JPT) is a fully-automated performance benchmarking tool designed for Jira Server and Jira Data Center. It can manage all aspects of the testing process -- provisioning a new Jira instance, running performance tests, and generating a report.
JPT focuses on user experience, allowing you to test both front-end and back-end performance simultaneously. Rather than using simple HTTP traffic, JPT uses browsers to test end-to-end interactions.
There are also more detailed instructions on how to use this code in the ON_PREMISE.md file in that repo: Check on the sections on that page called "Requirements" and "How to use JPT". That page does provide step by steps process you can take to do performance testing of your Jira site.
