"Set resolution" field missing?

I've created a new workflow but now the "Set resolution" checkbox from the statuses is missing.

When creating a new workflow wheres the option to add the "Set Resolution" checkbox to a status? Or is this something you have to set in the project?

The Set Resolution option only applies in simplified workflows, and appears when defining the board columns.

For other workflows, you need to do the resolution by hand - place either screens with resolutions, or "set resolution" post-functions on the transitions into "closed" and "clear resolution" post-functions on transitions out of closed.

I dont have Administrator access rights, how do I set the post-functions?
And what does it mean by "screens with resolutions" ?

You need to be an administrator to edit the workflows, which contain the transitions that you add post-functions to.

Screens in Jira are simple lists of fields.  The lists are held globally, and often shared between projects.  When you edit a workflow transition, you'll find a box pops up to edit the name and the "transition screen", which is selected from the global pile of them.

One (or several) of the screens will include the "resolution" field in their list - that is a screen with a resolution.
