Hi, we have a addon called power admin. With that we can identify schemes, workflows, screens and custom fields that aren't used. Now here is my question. a field that isn't used in any project, is that safe to delete?
Once you will delete the custom field it will no longer be in the ticket that was open in the past.
From Audit point of view i suggest to make a CSV export with the current value and then delete the field.
You have to take care of some scripts/codes.
You can have customfield, which is not used in any project etc, but you can have it used in behaviours or any scripts like that. :)

It sounds like the field is from the power admin plugin. If that is the case it may cause problems with the plugin. I would contact their support. If that isn't the case deleting a custom field is no problem if it is no long being used. If it was used in the past all data associated with it will be deleted and unrecoverable.
