Are both projects created by this add-on necessary?

I'm trying to limit unnecessary projects on my Jira instance, but this add-on creates two without me noticing for a bit: Issue Templates - Examples and Templates. It looks as though Templates is the project the add-on uses to store templates, it's the only place I can create them. However, can I delete the Issue Templates - Examples project?
