Calculate cost of project using hours logged and fixed rate

I would like to script a field on my issues that would allow me to calculate the cost on projects using a calculated/scripted field that would use the time logged against an issue and multiply it by a fixed rate to display a "cost" on each issue.  I am not a developer, so this is a challenge for me, but I am looking for a simple solution.  Thank you for any feedback.
