Cannot view attached images. Error = The image cannot be displayed because it contains errors.

Arthur Shvarts October 17, 2012

I can create an issue through image collector and attach an image.

Next, I go an open the bug in Jira.

When I click on the attached image, I get the following error in Firefox: The image cannot be displayed because it contains errors. In Chrome I get "broken image" icon. In IE I get the Red "X".

I haven't been able to find an discussion on this issue, any help would be aprciated.

*Edit: I tried saving files of type Gig, PNG, and JPEG; same result for all.

I've ever get "broken image" icon in IE browser with the Red "X". And if I download the image and view the image with Windows image viewer, then shows well. If your issue is similar, here's the solution: this is might because the image color mode is in CMYK, so you may just change mode to RGB, and then it will goes well.

I have the same problem and I'm not using Issue Collector Plugin. Image cannot be displayed within confluence nor browser when I go to "view image" option. When I download it, I can normally open it in windows image viewer.

I've seen a couple other people reporting errors like this. It may have to do with the way the images are being saved - they may be corrupted. Are you using the Issue Collector Plugin?

Try using a different program to generate the screenshots and see if the problem persists.
