We need to give space admins the possibility to change space logo / header area without giving them Confluence Administrator privileges. As we have many projects / research groups that would like to use their own logo in a centrally created theme we would need to give some privileges to space admins but we hesitate to give them full confluence admin rights. Is this possible?
Hi @Juha Martikainen,
That's currently not possible, but we're planning on adding more flexibility around that in our 2.0 release. You can track progress by watching this feature request: https://brikit.atlassian.net/browse/PRESS-734
I hope this is helpful. Let us know if you have any further questions.
Cheers,
Maggie
Hi
Thanks for the answer! Looking forward to hearing more about this next week.
Meanwhile the test environment might be doable (we have a test environment but it's for IT departments tests and development at the moment.)
Best Regards
Juha

Hi @Juha Martikainen,
We have a release planning for the 2.0 release on Monday so I will be able to tell you when you can expect this feature. In the meantime, other clients have a test environment where space admins get admin rights and where they create their themes. Once they're done designing, they can simply download the theme on one instance and upload it in production.
Thanks,
Maggie

We just ran into this problem, we would like to market Theme Designer for our space admins but as we cannot allow all of them to be Confluence Admins as well, the plugin is somewhat useless. The only way to use it in the current situation is to create ready "template" of different items (banners etc.) and then ask for the space admins to give us the details to add to them. This seems redundant as the idea behind using Theme press was to free the space admins to create a unique look for their spaces.

Thank you for the answer. This feature would be really needed as it would do away with unnecessary work of our customers asking for architect permissions and our IT giving them and then monitoring the use of the permissions. Looking forward to 2.0 release.
