How to use JSON table when API Requires Token

I am trying to use the Advanced Table JSON Macro with an API that requires an API Token to authenticate. I put in my client id in the user and the key in the password, but does the macro receive the token from the API? 

Am I able to set it up where I can make a call, receive the token and then call the json api?

Seems like there is an open request for the same TBL-916, please add yourself as a watcher to the request to get future updates.
