My roadmap has a lot of Epics. Sometimes epics have been created and are no longer needed (e.g. an Epic that is deemed a duplicate.)
I resolve the Epic and remove it from the roadmap by clicking on "x" on its top right. It now goes to the Unscheduled Epic sidebar. Ideally I never want to see this Epic again. It's a dead ticket and will never be scheduled but, at the moment, it's taking up space in the sidebar along with legitimate Epics that I *do* need to schedule.
Related, Epics that are on the roadmap that are completed, it would be great to represent them differently. Even if the Epic bar is greyed out a little. Anything to show that this Epic is no longer active would be really great.
Thanks,
Lee
I think resolved Epics should stay on the Roadmap (as a kind of History), but closed Epics should not appear at all.
Maybe it's different for Lee, but we only close an issue, if there was no work done on that issue.
Yes, sorry, I should have made that distinction - I still want to see legitmately completed Epics on the Roadmap. Closed ones, however, are closed because they're no longer needed.
Hubert's differentiation works for me: If it's Resolved, work is complete. It stays on the Roadmap (but maybe we can change its appearance to differentiate it from other active Epics?).
Closed Epics mean that we no longer have any use for these Epics and they should be removed from the Roadmap entirely.

Hi Lee, Hubert, thanks for raising this.
Today the Unscheduled Epics in Easy Agile Roadmaps shows all epics which are not already present on the roadmap.
Would it be suitable to exclude epics which are either 1) in the Done Status Category or 2) have an Epic Status of Done?
For more on the epic workflow and tying the JIRA Software Epic Status and JIRA Status Category together see this blog post: Understanding the cycle time of Epics in JIRA.

Thanks for the reply, Nick.
For me, we Resolve Epics, so if the Status is Resolved or Closed it shouldn't appear on the board for us.
Technically, though we're not using the feature at the moment, Epics that are marked as Done from the Agile planning board should also be captured but, for us, we would always mark these as Resolved so they'd be captured in the first instance.
Regards,
Lee

I'm having the same problem. Any news on this?
