The documentation says : "Manual Tests are segmented in Manual Steps. Each Manual Step is composed of 4 fields (StepDataExpected Result and Attachments) with Step being the only mandatory one."

For our testing purposes we wish to modify those fields. Specifically we want to rename the Data field to be called Description, and we wish to add one more field called Actual Result next to Expected Result.

Is this possible? If so, how can I achieve this?

Thanks in advance,

Andreas.

Just want to add my voice to the need to be able to do this. I, like many others do testing in excel that we would like to import in as test steps (or visa versa if xrays steps were more malleable). Not being able to change the step column name means workarounds. Also I would consider a excel like test type. Where the results of an import can display what the tester had made in excel. Hence the need for column header management. Inside the Jira Card next to each step a pass or fail (colored) indicator would be nice. Having to go to an execution card for some of these steps is arduous and maintaining both a test card and an execution card is silly. Especially for one off tests.

Hi Andreas,

Unfortunately it is not possible to alter those fields or the Manual Test Steps field configuration at the moment. We already have several suggestions to make that a possibility in the future that you can follow in order to know, XRAY-911 and XRAY-3225.

Best regards,
