Implementing a portlet as a gadget in the atlassian plugin framework

Maik Diepenbroek October 17, 2013

Hi devvers,

I was wondering if it was possible to implement a portal framework into the atlassian plugin framework. I would like to use it in a way that i can write a plugin and offer it to the specific portal framework ? Since the removal of the portlet API i was wondering if and how this is possible ?

Thanks in advance!

Greetings,
Maik

You can't use the old portal framework because it is not there anymore. You will have to implement gadgets instead. What advantages have portlets over gadgets? I mean, why are you considering portlets instead of gadgets?

I don't want to use the atlassian portal framework. In stead i want a seperate portal container (jboss gatein) running on top of the atlassian plugin framework. So that gadgets and plugins written in APF can be used in the portal framework. (since it supports gadgets)
