Integration of Jira cloud with Gitlab

I have the following structure in Gitlab - one project with multiple subprojects. What is the best way to structure the project in Jira:
1. One single project in Jira with components corresponding to the different Gitlab subprojects
2. one project in Jira per subproject. Define a filter to get all issues across all these subprojects and have a board with that filter for a consolidated view across all projects
