The Salesforce ID number is the unique key that is going to enable use to link between Salesforce, JIRA, and the timekeeping system. Currently, the Salesforce ID is embedded in a field in JIRA that has no parameters. It is the linking between the two system and it seems that any field coming from Salesforce is in that connection and not a real text field. Thus, when you are trying to do database work and lookups, you can’t really do it. This number really needs to be on its own in a numeric field with parameters. Are we limited to this or can you bring a text field over?
I created a new field and it works fine. No need to go any further! Thank you.

Hi Paula,
How are you bringing this Salesforce ID over and populating it to a field in a JIRA Issue? Are you using a particular plugin to do this?

Also once we get a text field is there a way to make sure it auto syncs with Salesforce or do we have to manually sync each ticket?
