Issues trying to get custom field created via User Profile for Jira

Running Jira Server 7.0.11 and User Profiles for Jira 2.0.1 plugin.

I am doing an evaluation of this plugin and following the documentation but for whatever reason the custom field created through the User Profile for Jira selection (and reindexed) does not show up on my screens while a generic custom field created the same way does show up fine. Can anyone guide on how to fix this problem?

Here are a few things I can see...

First of all, if the user property is empty, the field will not show in the issues.

Secondly, once the field is created, you need to configure it through the add-on menu to point it to the property you want to display.  Has this been done?

Third, are you sure you added the field to the right screens in order to see it?
