For whatever reason (we suspect possibly a recent update?) we logged in to JIRA one morning and found that the Multi-Level Cascading Select plugin had disabled itself. This was causing one of our fields, "Location", to not appear on any forms or queries. We re-enabled the MLCS plugin and the field reappears. Now we are finding the data erased from many of those fields. Lots of previously filled-in values are not returning in any queries or are simply blank. How do I begin looking into this?
Just as a followup, in case others might have the same problem: reindexing Jira fixed the problem. Issues modified while the plugin was disabled were not indexed properly.
Not to be awkward, but this started working again yesterday after a Re-Index combined with an Integrity Check. All the values came back into the fields after we performed those two things (for other reasons). If this ever occurs again I'll reopen this issue so we can learn more, though.

Gulp. Got a recent backup? Is there anything interesting in the issue history? Do the cascading fields work as they did originally? (ie: is the plugin actually working?) It might be time to contact the add-on author.

Don't know about backups, and no, nothing happens in the issue history. (It's not a history compatible field).
The plug-in IS working today. I can fill out the fields just fine.
I am going to contact the plugin author but on the Marketplace under Support it just points you here.
