How to exclude "Clockwork updated the Clockwork" from Activity Stream dashboard widget

Tim Padgett June 25, 2019

How can I exclude or filter out updates such as "Clockwork updated the Clockwork" from Activity Stream dashboard widget?  I tried specifying "username ... not in... Clockwork", but that didn't help.

I assume you're asking about "Clockwork updated the Clockwork Timer" in that case please go to Clockwork's global configuration and disable Custom fields integration. You can also turn on/off this setting per project if you want.

I'm not sure I understand exactly how Custom Fields work.  Does disabling "Enable Clockwork Timers" disable functionality or just how timers are captured in the activity logs?

I'm trying to gauge if this is a necessary evil required to leverage the time tracking capabilities.

It will stop Clockwork from updating this custom field which can be used to display accumulated time on boards for example.

Turning it off will not disable any part of Clockwork's tracking mechanism so you can turn it on/off whenever you want.

ok, so that sounds pretty good.  Where else is this custom field utilized?  Just on sprint/kanban boards?

Only there. Unless you made some JQL queries using it.
