Project migration - Jira

Hi All,

Does the Project configurator or Configuration manager support Jira cloud? I am looking for a tool or mechanism to migrate project from one Jira cloud instance to another .

Please suggest the options available.

Hi Aruna,

Thank you for this Question. 

I can confirm that the Project Configurator or Botron add on's do not support the ability to migrate content between cloud instances. 

In order to merge two cloud instances together then you should refer to the guide produced by Atlassian located at https://confluence.atlassian.com/jirakb/how-to-merge-two-different-jira-cloud-applications-together-779160767.html.

Otherwise if the target cloud instance is empty then you should refer to the guide on moving projects between cloud instances produced by Atlassian which is located at https://confluence.atlassian.com/jirakb/how-to-migrate-projects-from-one-jira-cloud-application-to-another-779160766.html.

Hi Kristian,

I have a question in migration. As we are implementing and using Jira Service Desk for the first time rather than tracking offline in excel. How can we move all existing project in excel/ csv and service desk issue migrate to cloud? Are there any tool available for the 1st timer to easily transfer all open service desk ticket to Jira Service Desk?

2. We are planning for cloud service desk for 1 year subscription and later on we might considering moving to service desk server. Question, will there be any tool to migrate the existing service desk from cloud to server by our own? Will there be any feature where server does not support after migrated from cloud?

Hi Angeline,

Project Configurator only works on Jira Server.

To migrate from Jira Cloud to Jira Server you should look to follow the process outlined by Atlassian in the documentation here.
