The vendor/product has opted out of expert discounts

When I`m making a quote for my client, there are add-ons which has no discount.

It is saying "The vendor/product has opted out of expert discounts".

Usually I just create a ticket in partner portal and agent helps me to provide the discount, but this time he is saying that cannot do anything to help. Have some of You guys encountered such issue?

Yes.  It is what it says it is - there is no discount for that app, because the vendor of the app has chosen not to allow them.

I'm not with the products team.  As far as I know, we have not opted out, and we don't know what product @Juris Bergmanis was asking about either.

I'll ask.

Sorry @Nic Brough -Adaptavist- , maybe this is not the correct place where to post the issue, but I`ll answer your question.

The product is called TM4J - Test Management for Jira for JIRA by AdaptavistAtlassian_Quote_AT-86065858-3.pdf and 2 more pages ‎- Microsoft Edge 2019-10-23 12.35.46.png

I see no point to sell/offer Your products to our clients, since we do not get any discounts.

Wait, isn't this called blackmail? 😂
You're basically publicly catcalling Adaptavist for not having enabled an optional service to solution partner. Bad form.

@Remie Boltenot all members generally understands the idea behind all concepts of marketplace vendors and the options they can have. We simply try to follow Atlassian announced information in partners page.

My question here was about the logic it self, did not want to highlight any specific vendor, my personal experience was with Adaptavist, so sorry about that. Now I understand that some vendors can disable an optional service to solution partner. Got that, thank you!

The only question now reminds - how can I tell from the view of marketplace page - which vendors have opted out and which are not? Should we read their policies?

Regards,

Juris.

@Juris Bergmanis This information isn't visible on the Marketplace pages as they are customer facing and the discount is an option that can be offered to partners. Vendors can opt-in into the partner discount on a per App basis so there are unlikely to any policies for you to read.

The ethical thing to do would be to offer the best solution for your customer rather than what makes you the most money. Helping the customer be successful usually turns them into a long term customer with repeat business.

Hi @Juris Bergmanis

Further to @Nic Brough 's comments, you can find the full list of Marketplace Vendors who opt out of standard discounts on the 'Marketplace Product Partner Discount Opt-out' page in the Atlassian Partner Portal.

We run a similar system to our friends Adaptavist here at Easy Agile. Always looking to work with new partners & happy to take you through our program if you wish to apply: https://www.easyagile.com/partners/

I can't speak for other vendors who opt out, and I didn't pay a lot of attention to the announcement (I'm in the consultancy bit of the company, not product), but here's the short version of what we published (news link goes to a more detailed explanation) :

On August 6th our CEO, Simon Haighton-Willliams reached out to the top 100 Marketplace vendors with the news about our evolution in line with Atlassian’s recent changes. Effective October 1st, we disabled solution partner discounts for our Server products. This will allow us to fund Migration Development Funds as part of the Adaptavist partner programme.

However, if you join our new Partner Programme you will be able to take advantage and benefit from a range of offers and discounts exclusive to Adaptavist Partners. If you are interested in learning more please fill out this form on our website where you can also read more about our programme. https://www.adaptavist.com/partners/channel-partners/
