Use Report Info on mother page to get info from Get/Set Data fields within a Table Data macro

Ivo Ooghe January 9, 2019

I would like to know whether it is possible to retrieve data from Get Data and Set Data fields within a Table Data macro on a child page, via Report Info macro’s on a mother page using a Report Table with an Expanding Reporter.

If this is not technically possible, would it be possible to “inject” data from a Set Data field into a Text Data, Date Data or Number Data field?

Context info:

  • We have a project report page on Confluence.
  • As children we have multiple project pages.
  • On the project pages there is a main information table with columns and fields for the project name, project owner and project deadline (respectively, Text Data, Date Data and List Data + User Options macro’s).
    • By using Get Data macro’s I manage to visualize the contents of this Scaffolding table on the same page.
  • Below the main information table on each project page there is a second table using a Table Data macro and with information about milestones and activities with fields like Category, Activity description, DueDate, PctComplete, Status, …
    • Ideally I would like to integrate the data from the main information table on top of the page on evert line, using Get Data macro’s. When I do, the preview in Edit mode shows me the correct values but they are not visible in Read mode. I will explain below why this is so important.
  • On the project report page I use a Report Table with an Expanding Reporter containing a Content Reporter with type page and with as scope all descendents of the page itself:
    • Using Report Columns with Report Info fields and some Report Evaluation fields all data from all of the necessary fields are gathered from all individual project pages.
    • The result is a complete overview of all milestones and activities of all projects which is excellent to plan and report using filters and pivot tables.
  • The trouble is that all values that were included in Get Data macro’s within the Table Data macro’s on the project pages turn out to be empty. Perhaps this is not a surprise because they were not even visible in Read mode on the project page itself.
    • As an alternative I have also attempted to use Set Data macro’s in the Table Data macro on the project pages which does make the values appear in Read mode. However, like the Get Data Macro’s, the results of the Report Info macro’s on the project report page is empty for Set Data fields.
