Just a heads up: On March 24, 2025, starting at 4:30pm CDT / 19:30 UTC, the site will be undergoing scheduled maintenance for a few hours. During this time, the site might be unavailable for a short while. Thanks for your patience.
×The latest update for Automated Release Notes for Jira (2020-07-17) requires a permission change to allow it act on behalf of a user even when they are offline.
What is this for?
Also, when we update, will it preserve current content (rules, templates, etc) ?
@erin_quick-laughlin thanks for asking. This scope change is needed for ARN to check if a user has Jira admin permissions or not. Since there is a screen specifically meant for Jira admins, we have added this check. (the screen was already there, but the permission check wasn't).
Also, the update won't impact your rules/templates etc in any way.
Hope that helps.
If you have any other questions, do reach out on our service desk.
Best,
Anand
I did encounter a temporary loss of access - maybe 5-15 minutes - I assume this was some sort of permissions propagation?
