Wrong representation of custom field's value in issue matrix

Community Leaders are connectors, ambassadors, and mentors. On the online community, they serve as thought leaders, product experts, and moderators.
Our customer uses Issue Matrix plugin in version 2.8.1 to display variant columns from linked issues.
My problem is that one custom field is implemented using Script Field (Script Runner) to return unicode character which represents folder: “📁” (U+1F4C1)
Custom field value is correctly displayed in issue navigator:
I can see that unicode characted was translated in the source code of the page with issue matrix to this:
Do you have any idea what can be the cause of this problem?
