Join our research study to improve Atlassian’s app and site switching

Hi everyone,

The Atlassian navigation team is continually working to make navigation simpler and more intuitive. Your insights have shaped our work so far, and we’d love to hear from you again.

What’s this study about?

We’ve been exploring new concepts to address one of the top challenges we’ve heard from you: The awareness of organizations, apps and sites, and switching between them.

In this study, we’ll share clickable prototypes that show early concepts (not final designs) and ask you to complete tasks. Your feedback will help us test usability and see how these ideas fit into your workflows.

What’s involved?

  • We’ll conduct an hour-long session (with video and screen share) where we’ll show you designs and prototypes. You can participate from anywhere.

  • In this session, we’ll ask you to complete tasks on clickable prototypes so we understand how our improvements fit with your workflows.

  • As a token of appreciation for your time, we’ll send you an e-gift card worth $100 USD for this session.

Who are we looking for?

We’re looking for organization, site, and product/app admins who:

  • Are comfortable with video, audio, and screen sharing

  • Have been using Atlassian products/apps for at least 12 months

  • Use multiple Atlassian products/apps

If you believe you’re a good fit for this research study, please sign up below.

Note: We may not be able to interview everyone who signs up. We’ll select participants who best represent a diverse mix of roles, app usage, and team environments. Gift cards will only be provided to participants who are selected and complete the research session.

If you have any questions, feel free to reply to this post. We look forward to hearing from you.

Cheers,
The Atlassian navigation team

We would like features that we had and were removed. Such as easy access in Dashboards. (No keyboard shortcuts required.)

And when we are in the project configuration, the entire menu is for the project. So if I need something like Filters, I have to open a new tab.

Not trying to be mean, but I don't think anyone is asking this. Can you expand on who is asking for what and why?

@Haddon Fisher

Thanks for raising this, it’s a fair question. Let me clarify a bit.

While we can’t share specifics about who said what or why, we can tell you what we’re surfacing here comes from themes we see repeatedly across different research studies, customer interviews, and in-product feedback. This is the direction Atlassian is heading in: Bringing these factors together and consolidating them so we can better understand and address common challenges across our apps.

We’ve consistently heard from customers who struggle with awareness and context-switching between organizations, apps, and sites, so it’s something we want to explore further. While this may not be a challenge for you, we ask that you respect others experience where it may be a barrier for them.

Finally, this study is designed to test concepts. This is not because we’ve already decided something is “the” problem to solve, but so we can validate (or rule out) different lines of thinking. Your perspective helps ensure we’re pressure-testing the right areas.
