External diff tool not launching from a "Merge window"

Hi
I defined kdiff3 (and BeyondCompare) as diff and merge tools.
before I make a commit (i.e file is in a staging area) the "External diff" will open the defined tool with no issue.

 

However, when I want to merge a commit, in the merge window when i pick a specific file (from a commit) and press on the little wheel (right side) and select "External diff" nothing happens.

Is this a bug ?
