Using Git flow in team environment - init git flow locally on every machine?

Our team members share a Bitbucket repository. We initialized git flow via source tree on one members machine and do use the provided features locally and remotely. But on other members machines pressing the git flow button results in the default dialog for initializing git flow. I expected sourcetree to be aware that this step has already been done for the repo and instead show the options for creating/finishing release, features and such. Do I need to init git flow on every machine? And are there any caveats I should be aware of?

A few questions:

1. Was the configuration change after init'ing pushed to the remote repository and then pulled by the other users?

2. What version are you using and on what OS?

1) (Hope I understand your question - I'm not a native speaker) The repository was initially created without any git-flow functionality. We tried to switch to git flow much later. Members regularly pull from the remote repo.

Hi @Christian Lange,

Once you run init git-flow the attributes are written to the config for the repository in /.git/config and that this file is shared and not an ignored file. Hope that helps a bit.
