Just a heads up: On March 24, 2025, starting at 4:30pm CDT / 19:30 UTC, the site will be undergoing scheduled maintenance for a few hours. During this time, the site might be unavailable for a short while. Thanks for your patience.
×I would donate to see that happen. It's time for a great Git GUI for linux ;)

I'd love to see a SourceTree version for Linux (specifically Ubuntu). We're all using it in the office (on Macs) and it's brilliant. Unfortunately, I'm unable to use it out of the office, on my Linux machine.

Yes, there are a few GUI GIT applications for Linux, but nothing as nice as this. I think you would have a huge market there. I know I would use it.

Sorry for forgotten the Mac version. For me c# is still a programming language to get platform independent software. How ever I can understand your point and you are right KDE oder Gnome-programs have not always the best possible experience on Windows.
Best option would be to make the code opensource, so that a port becomes possible.

C# was written to target specifically Windows and was never intended for the Mac or Linux (and that hasn't changed). It just happens that Mono was developed, and even then, it took a few developers three years to get it working for a major release. Even then, there are features from Windows that aren't supported through Mono (WPF, for example).
SourceTree for Windows was written in C# because we want to target specific platforms, hence the re-write for Windows from the Mac version. If we were to write a Linux version the same principle would apply.
