Security advisory for SourceTree

The original mail:

Hello,
We are writing to inform you of a security vulnerability that exists in SourceTree for Mac starting with 1.4.0 but before 2.5.1 and SourceTree for Windows starting with 0.8.4b but before 2.0.20.1.
Customers who have upgraded to SourceTree for Mac version 2.5.1 or SourceTree for Windows version 2.0.20.1 are not affected.
We strongly recommend updating to the latest version of SourceTree.
How do I update?
To update to the latest version of SourceTree go to the SourceTree website. For additional details, see the SourceTree Security Advisory.
Kind regards,
Atlassian

Get secure but unfunctional tool or stay with 1.9...?

Not much to think about! Just let me know when 2.2 is out, maybe then all the critical bugs and UI inconsistencies are fixed (and not many new ones, hopefully, are introduced in the process).

How to decide without knowing the details of the vulnerability?  Seems like a patch to 1.9 that fixes the vulnerability is not an unreasonable expectation.
