When checking the sourcetree.log file, I see this frequently:
[SourceTree.Utils.UpdateHelper] [TransitionUpdateLocation] - Unable to locate [C:\ProgramData\ramonr\SourceTree\app-2.1.10\tools\Squirrel.exe]
Has anyone else noticed this? And what is the best way to resolve this?
Hi
That error is not significant for Sourcetree's day to day operations.
Squirrel.exe is part of https://github.com/Squirrel/Squirrel.Windows the installer technology we use.
If it was to cause any issues it would probably prevent you being automatically informed of new updates.
Interestingly it refers to C:\ProgramData\ramonr\Sourcetree usually Sourcetree will install to %localappdata%\Sourcetree.
This location is not something you as a user has control over, however if Squirrel decides it cannot write to/install to %localappdata5 it will fall back to ProgramData.
I've not seen this actually happen in 'the wild' do you know why Sourcetree might not be able to install to %localappdata% ?
