For those that do not wish to use this feature and have a lot of boards to turn it off on (aka time-consuming); I've made a small free tool that does it in a batch instead: https://trellotools.azurewebsites.net/BatchBoardPref

I do not like this new feature. When I am inside of a card and complete it the checkbox was right there at the top to mark as complete. Now I need to go out of the card, find it on the board and then mark complete. You added steps to the process. Please bring back an option INSIDE of the card.

@Erin Traynor good news, you don't need to close the card to mark it complete! That complete circle is just to the left of the card's title when the card is open as well.

@Kelly Gabel Thank you! I clicked on everything but that!  I was searching around Labels, Notifications and Due Date. Ugh! This is so much better than only outside the card!

@Erin Traynor  you are so welcome!

Don't like the complete/incomplete circle to mark on the top left of the card. Also don't like the strikethrough. If it is possible please is it possible to choose to remove the mark it complete circle from the cards? thanks :)

I see this feature now in the non-Enterprise version - when is it coming to Enterprise Trello?  Hopefully soon - have been looking forward to this feature

@Alex has there been a related (or, unrelated 🤪) update to being able to filter by label on the mobile app?

When I click the filter button now, it seems to only let me either search for a word on a card, or filter by complete/incomplete Screenshot_20250219_193445_Trello.jpg

Hi Rasmus,

Just to confirm the link below that you

https://trellotools.azurewebsites.net/BatchBoardPref. When you choose the disable completed status on selected boards for a certain board all that does is remove the circle to check on the top left of the cards is that right? It doesn't make any other change?

That's all I'm wanting to change - thanks :) for your continued help :)

@Lucie Smith : Yes. It disable this checkmark in setting (aka on the front of the card).

IMG_1563.jpeg

When you open the card and see it in full the top-left checkmark will still be there (you can't change that part)

In general, always good to try new software on dummy data if in doubt of how exactly it work, so if still in doubt, make a quick demo board and try the tool on that first [Good practice of any PwoerUp / Software in general]

@Kelly Gabel Hi there, the Android filter issue you mention is actually a bug - thanks for catching this! We're working on it now and it should be addressed in the next release. In the meantime, you can use the '#' symbol to search for cards by label.

@James Hurley Thank you! I'm glad that this is a bug and not an update :) and I really appreciate the workaround while it is being resolved! 🙌🏻

Is there a way to disable the automation with this? I noticed when you hover over your cards now, the titles glide back and forth - this is really bad for those of us with motion sickness or visual sensitivities. Please consider adding this to the Accessibility settings or disable it entirely. This is a really uncomfortable non-inclusive feature.

@Sarah Ecklund  You can! On desktop and mobile :) It's board-by-board natively (although I think that @Rasmus Wulff Jensen created a way to do it in more of a bulk way because he's awesome!) but I posted a video on YouTube showing you how to disable it board by board: https://youtu.be/awW5Cws6EYI

@Sarah - This feature does respect device motion settings. If you have reduce motion turned on on your device the check circle will appear on all card fronts unless the board setting to is turned off.

@Alex It seems there is no way to disable the Mark Complete circle within a card (after opening it).  This feature does not meet my use case for Trello and is distracting.  I've already turned off the setting for the board, but that doesn't remove the Mark Complete circle visible on the open card.

@Kelly Cheney

I mean this sincerely but can't you just ignore it?  I just had a look and while it is new, I don't see it as remotely distracting.  There are buttons on the right of the Trello card that I never use but they don't bother me.

Hi @Kelly Cheney.

The Description, Custom Fields, Attachments, and Activity sections all have an icon. I'm sure you'll soon stop paying attention to the completion circle.

I get calls from users who do not like the dancing cards. Like squeezing a bar of soap in the shower. Surely, another interface choice was possible here.

And also: what's wrong with dragging it to a Completed List once a task is done.
Is there a way to switch this floating card text thing off for a workspace?
[edit] Just walked through all the boards in my workspace and switched the setting Show completed on front of card off. As you can see, card titles pretty much hold all relevant content, and switching the option on adds some vertical space requirements.

I haven't read all of the comments yet, but I use Trello exclusively in Teams (so I don't have yet another app to keep open) and this feature isn't working in teams so now I can't mark my tasks complete (unless I go into Trello on the web). It may be a caching issue but I want to report this so it can get fixed ASAP.

- Update: I logged out and logged back in and the feature is working in Teams now. I'll work with it for a bit and then if I have any comments I will add a new one.

The fact that it needed a community member to develop a tool to turn this off across all boards is quite something.  I would love to see the thought process behind this feature.
