Billing Upgrading downgrading losing work

I'm currently in my trial period using the Premium Trello.

If the trial period expires and I haven't upgraded will I lose any of my work?  For instance, if a feature becomes locked or if I lose a feature, will upgrading to premium bring back my work or will it be lost forever? 

Hope this makes sense and thanks in advance for your help.
