I have used the IFTTT and Trello combination for many years for syncronizing my different cloud-based apps with Trello. (I have a free Trello account)
In the last couple of weeks the service keeps failing with a "Usage limit exceeded" error message in IFTTT's activity feed.
Is it some error, or did I misconfigured something, or did you modify the limits of the free account?
In the latter case, can I overcome the limits with a Trello Gold subscription?
Thanks
I've seen something similar in getting IFTTT to Tweet the contents of a card and they nearly always fail with "Usage limit exceeded". My best guess to this is that what they mean for (for me at least) is that I've exceeded the 240 character limit. When I've posted a new Trello card with just one word in it appears fine on Twitter. If I email something to a board that's quite long it doesn't get automatically truncated for Twitter, it just fails. I set up much the same thing with Microsoft Flow and when it errors it does say the content is too long to post to Twitter. Unfortunately this is just a description of symptoms and what I've been able to find out - it would be good if Trello and IFTTT could worth together to make the errors richer and more informative.
Hi, have you solved this problem already? Cheers :)

Hey Gabor,
Sorry but this doesn't sound like this is a limit specifically from Trello. Instead it sounds like the actions you are taking in IFTTT are reaching some limit that exists there. I'd recommend reaching out to their support team about that error, and hopefully they'll be able to give some additional explanation.

Hi Garrett,
I'm similar getting a similar problem. I'm a paid IFTTT user & free Trello.

I don't believe IFTTT imposes any limits, rather it's set by the services being called.
Perhaps Trello had made a recent change you haven't been notified about?
Best
