We currently use a property management software where we create work orders in our property management system. An email is automatically generated summarizing the work order and that email is automatically sent to a board whenever a new work order is generated.
However, we cannot customize the subject line of the automated email. Instead it comes over as "New Work Order" and we have to manually update the title of the card in Trello.
Is there a way to create a rule/Butler automation etc, so when a card is emailed to the board from our prop, man system, the title of the card is automatically updated based on some of the content from the card (i.e, "Find the text after the # symbol and add it to the title".
Any suggestions, work arounds would be helpful!
Thanks
@Fallon Scoggins you should be able to do this by doing something like:
When a card is emailed to the board with description containing "#{*}" rename the card to "{wildcard1}"
If you need fancier pattern matching, Butler also supports regular expression pattern matching but it's a bit more finicky, here are some other answers I've provided regarding the use of regex pattern matching in Butler rules:
Thanks Ian- I have a specific problem that I'm trying to solve using some of the pattern matching you mentioned. Can you let me know if this is something you/your company would be interested in engaging further to help us solve it? Thanks
