Custom Fields: Limited Number?

Are the number of custom fields limited? We are trying to develop a safe work permit form that has numerous boxes to check.

I started with using "Checklists" but it looked like the item wasn't a concern when it got crossed out by completing the checklist item and might cause confusion.

there is currently a limit of 50 custom fields per board in place, to ensure your board(s) remain performant.

Any thoughts on an approach for a "check the box" form that doesn't cross out the item like the checklist?

Hmm - custom fields is definitely an option, unless you have a ton of checkboxes.

You could consider using something like Typeform or Google Forms, and having form responses create cards in Trello, with the responses in the description. Typeform has a Power-Up for Trello.
