I would like to delete my Trello account but cannot seem to do so. I deleted my workspace, went to settings and I have a link to delete Trello and Atlassian account. Went there and tried to delete the Atlassian account then I get an error saying I must delete the Trello account but can't because I'm the billing contact. I'm on the free trial, there is no payment information in the account, and I can't find the billing area in Trello now to remove myself if that is, in fact, the issue. I just want off of Trello and Atlassian. How do I make this happen? Thank you!
Hi @CherylR78 ,
Sorry to hear about your current experience.
Could you please go through this article just for reference - https://help.trello.com/article/749-deleting-your-trello-account and let me know if it helps ?
HI @Suvradip Paul - thanks for the response. I did go to that article (and several community questions) already. I am still unable to delete my account. A main issue is that the articles redirect me to the billing area but the billing area went away when I deleted the board (which the billing section was originally saying I had to do before I could cancel my subscription). Trello has this very circular, non-productive instruction going for how to delete an account and they offer no way to get in touch with them directly to just get rid of it. I'm stumped.

UPDATE: Seems like the 'billing' area in Trello went away when I deleted the workspace?? But now I have no way of deleting the account?? And the help area is just a circular pointer to this community forum??

Hi Cheryl,
Thanks for reaching out!
So sorry about the confusion here. You do need to cancel your subscription/trial before you can delete your Workspace, and I can see that the trial is set to expire on December 14.
Instead of waiting until then, I've gone ahead and immediately cancelled your trial so you should be able to successfully delete your account now 👍
Let me know how that goes,
Lara

Hi Cheryl,
Thanks for the screenshot!
Looking at the message, it looks to be related to your Jira site, instead of your Trello account.
You will need to update the billing contact for your Jira site, or delete the site completely. You can find instructions in the article mentioned in the error message.
Here's a link to the article in question for easy access: https://confluence.atlassian.com/cloudkb/exception-handling-for-atlassian-account-deletions-1026046117.html

Still trying to get help to delete my Trello account, @Lara (or anyone else who may be able to assist). Can someone just delete the account on the company's side please? I do not have a Jira site or any other Atlassian product in use. I only used Trello for a trial and now am unable to get rid of this account. Thanks!

Hi Cheryl,
Due to security reasons, the Trello team cannot delete user accounts on their behalf.
Were you unable to delete your site, then delete your account? I can see that you created a Confluence site (apologies for incorrectly saying Jira earlier) on 12 Nov 2021, and your account is listed as a billing contact, which is why you're unable to delete your account.
If you have further issues, I'd recommend reaching out to the Atlassian support team, who can assist with Atlassian account related issues. You can create a ticket at https://support.atlassian.com/contact/#/
Please let us know if you have any other questions or concerns, and we’d be happy to help.
All the best,
Lara
