Delete option not appearing

According to Trello instructions, to delete a card one must first Archive it. But the "Delete" option doesn't appear (as shown in the instructions) when I archive a card.  I have administrator privileges on the board. Is there a setting I need to change? Something else?

Thanks.

Hey @Pat Skerrett - do you mind sharing a screenshot of your card after it's archived so we can take a look?

When I select "Archive" the card disappears. I can, of course, navigate over to the ... menu, select More, and click to view an archived card, and then make another click to delete it, but I was hoping to deploy the delete option when I right click a card to archive it. If it makes a difference, I'm using the web version of Trello.

Hey @Pat Skerrett - if you archive a card from the card front (aka the board view) then yes, you'll need to navigate to Archived Items to then delete it as it's disappeared from the board view.

If you archive a card from the card back (aka, opening up the card then archiving it) then the option to delete it should immediately come up.

I never thought about "card front" and "card back." Thanks for the lesson, Alex.  Deleting via the card back is an extra few clicks, so I'll forgo it and just let things pile up in Archived.
