I use Trello for person task management and for ongoing lists (books I've read, packing lists, etc). I don't need the ability to send anything to other people since this is just for personal use.
When Trello Gold was discontinued, my many boards were assigned to two workspaces in the free version. I cannot access various boards (I have many) unless I close other boards. SERIOUSLY, this bites.
I could get the paid for Standard subscription, but it only allows for a single workspace and I have important information in boards in the two free workspaces.
I don't know how to rectify the situation. Trello Gold was perfect for this personal/single user with no need for the Premium features.
@Linda Crawford welcome to the community! so it's a bit tedious, but the way you could do it is just create a bunch of workspaces (like folders) and then re-open the closed boards in those other workspaces.
I agree its a bit annoying to have to reopen those all and set a workspace, but personally I think the pricing model is pretty fair that if a user is getting that much use out of Trello that they needing that many boards, they can either do a workaround with a bunch of workspaces and some re-organization or pay $5/mo for it.
I had Trello long before the upgrades and there were no workspaces. I had Trello Gold and there were not workspaces until Trello Gold was phased out. I had the paid for Trello Gold and I was happy paying for that. Now there doesn't seem to a way to save my boards that are in limbo if I upgrade to the Standard plan. Since there are boards in the two free workspaces, it appears that I will lose important boards if I upgrade to Standard.

Yep I remember - i'm also an OG Gold user. I honestly don't remember what I ended up doing when I switched, but I think you can still use those boards without upgrading, you just have to open them in a new workspace that has room, right?

@Linda Crawford so in the pricing plans, its not exactly based on user (or at least not _just_ user), it's based on worksapces. So you can have as many free workspaces as you want - they can just only have a max of 10 boards in each workspace. As an example, I only have one paid workspace, here are just some of workspaces I'm a part of 😂

I attempted to add a 3rd workspace, but it does not appear on the Trello app on my iPhone. I don't use the computer version. I use the mobile app.

Welcome to the Atlassian Community!
I'm afraid it all has to change, Atlassian can't support Trello's old "gold" systems while making money (heck, the model couldn't even break even, it's a reason Atlassian was able to acquire Trello, they were losing money hand-over-fist).
See https://support.atlassian.com/trello/docs/what-to-do-if-your-gold-membership-is-ending/ for how to adjust.

All of my boards were personal boards. And the two free workspaces only allow 10 boards each.

And the new policies are not working for you how?

No. I have used the mobile app nearly exclusively. I have never used the special features like power ups . I had a weekly board with task lists for each day of the week. I used to keep all for future reference. Now I have to close them to make room for future weeks. I have a board with packing lists, each one unique to my travel destination. I have a board with my annual "books I have read' lists. And so many more. Some I can find in Trello online, but to access them, I have to close other boards that I use. That has to be done from a computer, not my iPhone. It is just incredibly disheartening to not be able to use the program like I did in the past. It is no longer the easy to use and manage platform that I loved and recommended to so many friends who wanted an uncomplicated way to manage information.
