Hi all.
I'm trying to create a quality control card.
What I'd like is for when a checklist in 1 card (called Quality Control) is all ticked (and the checklist says completed), it enables/unlocks another card in the list called 'Animation Rendering Kick-off'.
Only once Quality Control is done can we move to the next stage.
I've tried Card Dependencies by Screenful but it's not working for me, or maybe I just don't know how to do what I want.
Does anyone have any tips for how I can do this?
Many thanks,
Sean
Hi @Sean Toomey ! Welcome to the community :) if you're wanting the new card to generate in the same list as the trigger card, try something along the lines of this:
Hello @Sean Toomey
My name is Alicia, from Alicante, Spain.
You can try this automation (rule):
- when checklist "Quality control checklist" is completed in a card in list "(the name of the list)", create a new card with title "Animation Rendering Kick-off" in list "(the name of the list)"
In the rule, you can also add a Description in the card with title "Animation Rendering Kick-off"
If you want you can see this little video I have made with Loom, with an example of the rule.

I hope I helped you.

Thanks for the reply. Right, I've kind of got it to work...... but I haven't :D
As you can see from the video our company has multiple lists. Each list is a specific job in progress.
In the automation I've set up (shown in the video but also below):
when checklist "Animation Quality Control Checklist" is completed in a card in list "SEAN TRELLO R&D", create a new card with title "Animation Rendering READY" and description "Quality control completed!!! Let's GOOOOOO" in list "SEAN TRELLO R&D", and add the "Animation Rendering Kick-off Checklist" checklist from card "https://trello.com/c/BQmZOf2d" to the card
I'm specifically telling Trello to look at a specific list called SEAN TRELLO R&D. However I don't want this.
I want us to be able to have a card called Animation Quality Control in any list we need to. Once all of the checklists are ticked, a new card is created directly below it giving the OK to render an animation.
I don't want to make new rules every time the card is used in a list.
Let me know if the video doesn't work for you. It works fine on my mobile but doesn't work on my pc.
Here's it on Vimeo if it doesn't work on Youtube: vimeo.com/684990437
Thanks

Hi @Sean Toomey
I have seen your video perfectly, thank you. 😉
I make a suggestion... try this:
when checklist "Animation Quality Control Checklist" is completed in a card by anyone, post comment "@board Quality control completed!!! Let's GOOOOOO", move the card to the top of list "OK to render an animation.", and add the "Animation Rendering Kick-off Checklist" checklist to the card
Maybe it is not necessary create a new card to know that the previos card is Ok to render.. Maybe you can do this with a comment
I have thouhgt another way... I don't know if it is ok for you
See this video with my example

Let me know
