I've noticed lately Trello is doing my links differently. It's showing a link to the content rather than the actual link. On a couple of my boards I'm storing my affiliate links for different products and I'm constantly copying and pasting them. Is there a format I can apply to have it just show the actual link so I can cut and paste it.
For instance, I'll have a snippet like this:
I have this amazing product, here's why you need it, hop over to thislink.com/adrian to purchase it.
I have several cards full of these links and I paste them into Facebook posts all the time. Now I have to remember to put it into Edit mode to get it to copy correctly.
Thanks!
Adrian
Hi Adrian,
This change was introduced to Trello a few months ago, and we have received some negative feedback about it. We're sorry that this has caused you inconvenience.
Unfortunately, there is no way to turn this feature off. However, there are 2 workarounds to show a full URL and stop it from unfurling:
1. You can remove https:// from the front of your URL e.g. https://www.figma.com will become www.figma.com.
2. You can add back ticks ` to the beginning and end of your links to show the full URL as I have done with the youtube link. Unfortunately, though, these links will no longer be clickable. I think this may work with your use case however if you're just copying text to Facebook.
Thanks,
Alex
Thank you! I'll experiment around and see what works best.
Definitely a thumbs down on this new "feature" from me as well, but I could see where it would be helpful in a different context.
Thanks!
Adrian

By staying in the systematic of automatic trello text convertions, it should be the other way: add a special (formating)char or command before and after the (link)text, to activate the feature, otherway show the full url.
