Happy Monday, community peeps! ๐
Can you believe how fast last week flew by? Did this happen to you as well? or was it just me?
I had the opportunity to travel to Bangalore for an Atlassian Community event! ๐ This was my first time attending an Atlassian Community Event in another city, and let me tell you, it was an amazing experienceโfull of learning, networking, and good food!! ๐๐
Hereโs a little glimpse into the event:
A huge shoutout to our wonderful hosts @Vishnukumar Vasudevan, @Girish_Shenoy, and @tamanna for making it such a fantastic experience! ๐
Now hereโs what I have for miscellaneous Monday this week,
Have you attended an Atlassian Community Event before? If yes, Iโd love to hear about any of these:
๐ฌ A fun interaction or story from the event
๐ A cool goodie or swag you got
๐ธ A picture from any past event
๐ค A valuable connection you made
Drop your best moments in the comments and letโs kick off this Monday with some community love! ๐
If you havenโt been to an Atlassian Community Event yet, trust meโyouโre missing out! I highly recommend joining one near you, Itโs worth it!
Looking forward to your storiesโletโs make this Monday fun and interactive!
Have a cheerful rest of the week! ๐ฅณ
Yupp, that's correct! @John Funk
I have attended a few virtual events. A local chapter was started in my area last year, but I haven't been to any events yet.
@Barbara Szczesniak you can look into Atlassian Communities in your area; they usually hold events once a quarter or even every couple of months! Hope you find one that fits your schedule!
My favorite in-person event so far was when @Mark Cruth joined us here in Milwaukee on the Team Shaping Roadshow! He's a blast and we had a beautiful view of Milwaukee/Lake Michigan.
Ohh wow, that's amazinggg! @Amanda Barber
It was an AMAZING view!!!
I attend a lot of virtual events, but I enjoy the in-person ones more. I will attempt to attend 3-4 in-person ACEs outside my home turf each year. Last year, it was SF, SD, and Phoenix. I haven't attended any outside of the US, but I am eager to find a business case for one.
I will never forget my first 2016 ACE Sofia event, and I was even a speaker!
In my first year of working in the Atlassian Ecosystem, knowing almost nothing and being very nervous about it ๐ฌ
9 years later, I remember it with great joy and a bit of nostalgia ๐
A bit late to the party - life gets in the way of the fun community interactions.
The picture below is of @Sajit Nair _Trundl_, MCB (not going to tag him here) and me at the Atlassian Team '23 community awards dinner. Sajit and I were sat next to Mike at dinner. Little did we know that this was purposefully done due to us each receiving community awards later that night! The award and this picture still sit on my desk in my home office, and although MCB and I have not really developed much of a relationship since that night (I was already a Confluence lover), Sajit and I have become good friends that live across the globe from one another. The seeds of friendship were planted when Sajit launched QuizWiz, but this time together was the water (and for me beer) that helped the friendship blossom and grow!
