Happy Wednesday Everyone!
I struggled a bit to find the right words for the title of this post, so I'm going to hope that I can do a better job of explaining it.
Many of you will know that I'm a passionate video gamer who streams on Twitch for charity (this is sort of what I'm talking about). For my birthday not too long ago, I received "The Ultimate Final Fantasy XIV Online Cookbook".
If you know the game, you will know that you can "cook" things in the game, and this cookbook takes those in-game recipes and translates them to real world ingredients and cooking/baking/mixing instructions.
So far, I have only managed to make a couple of the beverages as my wife and I are currently looking at how to substitute the flour in a couple of the bread recipes for gluten free flour.
I have had a lot of fun making these so far and there are many more that I'm excited to try. I will admit that I didn't think I would have "fun" cooking, and I've actually started to wonder if I should try my hand at making some other items from other games I don't have real world recipes for by simply following this pattern.
All that being said, my question for you this week, I there a hobby or interest you have that was the spark that got you to try something else that you are now having a lot of fun with or really enjoying?
I'd love to hear all about it in the comments below.
Have a great rest of the week!
I love it @Samie Kaufman - Your Gal at Gliffy! I will admit some of these posts are a small insight into the tangled maze going on in my head. But I love the connections you have listed!
Happy Wednesday!
I'd love to check out the twitch channel. Link?
Happy Wednesday @edwin vasquez!
Sure! You can find me here.
Hi @Jimmy Seddon I have one! I used to play online poker and play with my friends at house parties and then one day I decided to literally "try my hand" at real poker in a casino. Now, I go about 3 times a month and play cash games and tournaments. I even placed 2nd place in a tournament of about 50 people not too long ago. It is so much more fun in person than online!
That's awesome @Summer Hogan! I would make the same statement about most sporting events. I'm not a big fan of watching them on TV but I love going in person!
Great read @Jimmy Seddon ! I was a passionate action sports athlete for many years. Racing motorbikes, downhill skateboarding and pretty much anything else with the indefinite risk of danger. All with a very rebellious and anti-establishment attitude.
I then had a deep passion & urge to eliminate the barrier to entry to these sports for all the kids out there, which ended up turning into a full software/social media company (now moved on from said company).
So through these sports, and a desire to help the kids out there, I went from disliking establishments to owning one! I fell in love with the startup culture, business development, and now marketing! The young me would never have seen it coming.
That's an awesome story @Sean Manwarring _Izymes_ ! I love that your passion for something spark the desire to help get others involved!
