Jira Plan’s View-Switching Menu Revamp

We are thrilled to announce some improvements to the Plans Timeline feature that will enhance your experience.

What's New?

We have revamped the view-switching menu in Plans Timeline! Now, when you edit a view, you will notice that the Save and Reset options are now conveniently located as a separate button next to the menu. This change is designed to make managing your changes easier and more intuitive.

How to Use the New Feature

1. Getting started with the new Save and Reset button is simple:
2. Navigate to your Plans Timeline.
3. Edit any view.
4. Look for the new Save/Reset button that appears next to the view-switching menu when you make changes.
5. Click on the icon button to save your changes, or to reset, open the dropdown and select the option.

Hi Joe,

Thanks for the update - I have two questions about Atlassians roadmap for the timeline view.

1. When will it be possible to see sprints on the timeline view in Jira Plans, similar to how they appear in the timeline view within a project itself? (See below)

I've managed to create something similar by leveraging plan-only teams, but we would love for it to show all of the sprints as they are and without having to do a complex setup.

2. Are you looking into giving more flexible access to customize the timeline view? We are specifically looking for the tool to allow our issues on the timeline view to have multiple colors at once. We work with different project management phases, such as Analysis, Development, and Implementation, and therefore need to be able to color-code the timeline view. This would make it easy to see, for each issue, when the Analysis, Development, and Implementation phases start and end. I've also attached a screenshot of this:
