Still sharing your roadmap in PowerPoint?

It's time to re-think that. Let me explain why:

Most people associate “presenting” with PowerPoint. But that doesn’t mean it’s the best way to communicate everything—especially roadmaps.

Typical PowerPoint roadmap

Here’s why PowerPoint roadmaps suck:

❌ Time-consuming – A polished roadmap can take hours to create.

❌ Instantly outdated – The moment you hit Save, it’s no longer current.

❌ Too static – Slides limit detail. There’s no easy way to drill down for more context.

❌ Hard to find later – If you’re lucky, it was shared via email. But good luck tracking it down when you need it.

❌ Rigid templates – Many companies enforce a fixed format, making it hard to tell your story or highlight what truly matters.

❌ Design limitations – Making it look great? That’s even more time wasted.

❌ Duplicating what’s already in Jira – Doesn't need an explanation, does it?

It’s time for a better way

Your roadmap should be dynamic, always up-to-date, and easy to share.

Impossible to do with PowerPoint or any other 3rd party roadmapping tool that isn't deeply integrated into Jira.

But it's finally possible, with Jira and Released.

We started using Released.Roadmaps and it's super easy to set up, publish and incorporate in our site. Big applause to @Jens Schumacher - Released_so  and team for making this available.
